ART NOUVEAU
After the rigidity of Haussmannian buildings, the Art Nouveau movement emerged following the relaxation of administrative constraints. Between 1890 and 1910, architects Hector Guimard, Jules Lavirotte, Henri Sauvage, and their colleagues incorporated nature into delicate, sinuous, asymmetrical facades, vines, flowers, octopuses, dragons, etc., with the help of ceramicist Alexandre Bigot.
